Supplier Payment Checklist: What to Send Your FX Desk

A short checklist of what to send your FX or treasury desk before paying an overseas supplier from Nigeria, so you get a faster reply and fewer surprises.

The fastest supplier payments start with a complete first message. Before you contact your FX or treasury desk, have these ready.

The checklist

  1. Invoice or proforma invoice from the supplier.
  2. Amount and currency exactly as billed (for example, USD 25,000 or CNY 180,000).
  3. Deadline: the date the supplier needs to receive the funds.
  4. Supplier details: legal name and country, as they should appear on the payment.
  5. Payment purpose: goods, services, deposit, or balance.
  6. Your contact details: a work email and a phone or WhatsApp number.

Nice to have

  • Whether the supplier accepts a second currency (for example, dollars instead of yuan).
  • Whether this is a one-off or a recurring payment.
  • Any earlier payments to the same supplier, for reference.

Why it matters

A complete message lets the desk reply with an indicative level and the right next step straight away, instead of a round of follow-up questions while your supplier waits.

Send it to Zender

Put the amount, currency, and deadline into the enquiry form, or message the desk on WhatsApp from the contact page. Importers can also start from the importers page.
